All of our machines' bed guide ways are high frequency heat treated and precision ground. Hardness of the bed and prism is at least HRC 52~54 degree. Here are some testing video for reference:

Normally we provide manual tool post 4T as standard tool post. The operator can change tool by rotating the tool post.

Optional: quick change tool post. The customer can prepare several tool holders and change the tool holder quickly.

Optional: European type quick change tool post.

What CNC control system available?

CNC (Computer Numerical Control) has been a mature technology after its more than 70 years development. First Annn Yang CNC lathe was produced year 1995. Now Annn Yang has installed more than 30 different models from different brands of CNC control system.

Customers can decide what control system they prefer since service for CNC control are quite different in different countries. Here is the recommended CNC control system list for Annn Yang Lathe:

What’s the difference between Conventional manual lathe (G), Variable Speed Lathe (VS) and Clutch Lathe (M)?

Annn Yang produce 3 types of manual lathes (without CNC control system):

Model "G"----Conventional Manual Lathe

This model G is completely conventional manual lathe. Different spindle speeds are changed by different gear combination. Operators have to stop the spindle and then change gear lever to get different spindle speeds.

Model G - Conventional Manual Lathe

Model "VS"------ Variable Speed Lathe

This model VS represents Variable Speed Lathe. A frequency inverter is installed to control speed of the main motor and spindle speed. The operator can easily change the spindle speed from zero to highest speed with a small potentiometer stepless rotary switch. To have strong cutting force there are three gear steps to have different gear ratio for different spindle speed requirement.

Model "M"------- Clutch Lathe

Model M is representing the manual lathes with mechanical clutch and electro-magnetic brake inside headstock. With this clutch inside headstock the operator can stop the spindle while the main motor is still running.

M series Clutch lathe is popular used for small machining process with big quantity workpieces. With mechanical clutch and electro-magnetic brake, the main spindle can stop quickly while the main motor is still running.

How to define Swing over Bed, Swing over Cross Slide and Swing over Gap?

Lathe turning is one of the most frequently used machining technology. To order a proper size of lathe machine with correct specifications, swing is first considered since it represents the diameter allowance for workpiece.
Height of center line is center height. Center height is the key to form different swing sizes.

There will be several possible swings: Swing over bed, swing over cross slide and swing over gap:

SWING OVER BED

Swing over bed is also swing over Z axis guide way (longitudinal guide way). Annn Yang Lathe creates the machine model names by Swing over bed for easy identification. The X axis travel (cross travel) is also designed for possibility of turning max. diameter of workpiece upon swing over bed.

SWING OVER CROSSSLIDE

Swing over cross slide is diameter allowance upon the cross slide (or worktable). When workpiece is long and cross slide has to go through the workpiece for outside turning, such as still roller, pipe etc., it is necessary to consider swing over cross slide. The swing over cross slide will be smaller than swing bed.

SWING OVER GAP

Some lathe machines have the design of gap on bed to allow workpiece bigger than swing over cross slide. But this gap is created by removing gap block and take some distance of Z axis guide way. Therefore, only for some special flange type workpiece the customer will ask for gap on bed. Normally lathe with gap is for facing machining.

Swing over gap is available and optional for all Annn Yang lathe models.
